Imagine a Transformation in Education - Planting Seeds for Change! Join us for Apple Blossom’s Second Annual Retreat and Conference August 5 - 8, 2024. Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm with optional workshop from 4:30 - 5:15 each day for Educators of ages 4 - 11 years. Thursday is Early Childhood Day with workshops from 8:30 - 4:00 pm for Educators of ages Birth to 5 years. Thursday includes a Childcare Aware approved training on Nature-Based Learning with CEUs available for that 2 hour topic. Or come all 4 days! 25 spots per day are open. Early Bird Pricing $5 off/day/person until May 1st. Limited Childcare available for extra fee. Dress for the weather! We will be practicing our skills outdoors with canopies and yurts in case of rain. Located at Rail River Folk School, Bemidji, Minnesota. We will update you with the daily schedule and speakers closer to the event.
Begin each morning with Tai Chi, a walk by the lake, watercolor painting, or Yoga, before we dive into topics such as balancing green time and screen time, practicing forest school skills, and learning Indigenous Games. Relax and Rejuvenate outdoors at the Apple Blossom Yurts while learning about the benefits of outdoor play and movement, handwork, storytelling and singing, world and Indigenous language, and a head, heart, and hands approach to educating the whole child. Connect with other educators and share ideas as we cover topics about sustainability such as solar, composting, and gardening. Workshop Line up is listed below.
